My hero, Ms. Jacky Wright, works at General Electric. She is involved with the community via a group called Elfun. She started 2 years ago. She teaches kids, does projects, helps build shelters, and playscapes. She also does mentoring. Works 30 or 40 hours over a 5-month period. She likes to give gifts to the homeless around the holidays.
Ms. Wright said, “I enjoy what I do for the community.” I like what she said because she helps a lot of kids that don’t have the resources that I have.
Yes, I will keep in contact with my hero. This is easy for me because my mom also works at GEScreen Name….. Jazzy - 11

In my spare time I play outside, read, dance, play video games, and listen to music.
I am in the girl scouts, a community service group.
don’t like it when people lie. What I don’t like about the community is that people throw their trash in the gutters. Also I don’t like when people drink and go crazy at their parties. They bang on the walls and wake people up and it’s annoying.
I like that my community cares for its elders. Many of the people are nice and they stick together.
At school I play two instruments so I’m in a band.
I have many friends. I get involved with many things at school like band and basketball. I am really good at playing basketball.
I did this project because I wanted to learn how to use a camera and develop my own film. I also needed something to do this summer.
What I got from this project is new friends, brand new artwork, and a chance to meet new people from different communities. Yes, it was rewarding because I took advantage of a fun opportunity.
I kind of understand what it means to be a community leader. It is a very hard job to make sure everything is “ok” around your area.
It was very embarrassing to meet, talk, and photograph my hero cause I didn’t know what to say.
I recommend for kids to get involved in any social activities.
