My hero's name is Thomas Phillips. He is the President and CEO of Capital Region Workforce in Hartford, CT. He finds jobs for the youth and adults. He provides businesses with qualified workers. When I asked him why he wanted to go into this field he said, "I want to have a positive impact on people's lives."
Tom is my hero because he is developing a youth program that helps takes kids off the street by going back to school or receiving training towards a job. It was fun to meet with my hero. In my spare time I like to roller blade and ice skate. I also help my mom at her barbershop. I like to talk on the phone, play on the Internet and watch TV.
I am a member of the teen committee for the West End Civic association. This group develops rules and ideas for the new community center in the West End.
In the future I would like to become a part of a soccer team.
I like hanging out with my friends. I like ice cream I like going to the movies. I like dancing and going to the mall.
I joined Act Like You care because Marlo introduced the idea to me and I was interested. I wanted to recognize my hero.
What I got from this project are friends and more information about photography. Yes it was rewarding because I had a lot of fun. Yes it was rewarding because I had a lot of fun.
I look up to people who do acts of kindness and to a person who contributes to the community. I have a problem with people who commit to something and then don’t follow through with their commitment.
